Dr. Lloyd Austin is a native Nevadian. He graduated from University of Nevada Reno and then continued to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at St. Louis University. Inspired by his mentor in dental school who emphasized on oral health prevention, Dr. Austin decided to pursue a career in the field of pediatric dentistry so that he can spread the preventative care philosophy by having children develop good dental hygienic habits early in their lives. He completed his pediatric specialty training at University of Washington. Upon returning to Northern Nevada, Dr. Austin pioneered in the practice of pediatric dentistry in the Reno and Sparks area. Over the years, he had mentored many young dentists and remained active in the community. Dr. Austin has practiced pediatric dentistry for more than 45 years. To this day, there are families of more than three generations that continue to receive dental care from his office.
